Job Description


With stunning sea views across historic Scapa Flow, The Foveran is the place to relax, unwind and savour the taste of Orkney. Our accommodation is rated 4* Restaurant with Rooms by Visit Scotland and is perfect as a comfortable base from which visitors like to explore.

We are seeking friendly and reliable Seasonal Housekeeping and Front of House staff to join our family business and promote our 4* establishment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Servicing 8 modern en-suite rooms; vacuuming floors, dusting, emptying bins, replacing used towels and bathroom cleaning
  • Breakfast service as required; dealing with visitors, serving food and clearing the restaurant
  • In-house laundry 
  • Ensuring all tasks complete as required

Skills & Attributes:

  • Polite and helpful manner
  • Ability to work quickly and tidily
  • Attention to detail

Rota: 5-6 mornings per week, over a 7 day rota (flexible) - Part-time applicants considered

Hours: 07:30/9.00am start - 1:00pm finish 


Front of House

Main Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming diners, offering pre-dinner drinks and showing them to a table
  • Taking orders and offering information on the specials, local food and dietary requirements
  • Serving food to customers and responding to their needs as required
  • Setting the tables with glasses, napkins, cutlery
  • Printing off the bill, taking payment by cash, debit or credit card and giving change and the receipt

Hours: evening shifts available
