Counter Sales Assistant

Job Description

MacGregor Industrial Supplies require a Counter Sales Assistant to join their friendly, busy Kirkwall team. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Sell company goods and services to existing, new and potential customers 
  • Replenish showroom shelves, create daily pick-lists and retain high level of cleanliness
  • Provide support and advice for customers in the showroom, telephone and by email
  • Arrange specialist and/or equipment showroom displays
  • Develop sales of specialist product range and/or equipment
  • Document, progress and advise those necessary, of customer returns
  • Respond to customer needs linked to stock queries
  • Manage cash and payment systems in accordance with company procedures and policies

 

Position Requirements:

  • Customer sales experience with a good knowledge of industrial equipment and materials or experience within the construction industry
  • Good numeric and literacy skills
  • Basic keyboard skills
  • The ability to negotiate with customers

 

Working Hours: 

  • Mon-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Saturdays on rotation 8am-12pm (overtime paid for Saturday work)
